The Challenge

Create social awareness and attract new audiences for the season 5 premiere of a show on a very targeted network.

The Solution

  1. Create social media promotions tying back to blog ambassador efforts to boost online chatter and maximize exposure for the premiere.
  2. Develop a blog ambassador program partnering with popular African American bloggers to preview episodes show and drive traffic to a custom Facebook tab housing sneak peek video footage.  The editors’ content was also featured on the tab.
  3. Live Tweet episodes alongside the blog ambassadors to spark Twitter trends, retweets from celebrities, and overall praise for TV One for airing the series.
  4. Leverage Facebook media to increase overall messaging and widen fan base. 

The Result

  • Day of premiere saw an increase in Facebook engagement of over 400%. 
  • Garnered over 5,000 Facebook fans in a one day period
  • Sparked organic 1 National Trending Topic on Twitter on premiere and saw a total of over 20 National Trending Topics throughout the season
  • Received over 500,000 editorial impressions through blog ambassador programs with The Huffington Post, Ebony.com, Global Grind and EUR Web – all leading to increased social awareness.
